At The Foodscaper Conference, we support the growth and business success of professionals who design, build and maintain foodscapes for clients.

Our mission is to help edible landscapers create a positive impact in the world.

This conference season, we’re emphasizing workshop-style presentations that encourage attendees to engage, reflect, and apply what they learn to their work.

We invite you to join us in leading the foodscaping movement forward!

Who are the speakers?

We are featuring leading pro foodscapers from across North America. These leaders have industry expertise that will save our attendees time, money, and mistakes.

We've invited the folks we think are leading this industry forward - and that includes you

Who is The Foodscaper

Conference for?

The conference is designed for professional edible landscapers.

We’re also here to teach and support:

  • Permaculture Design Certification graduates
  • homesteaders
  • horticulturalists
  • conventional landscapers
  • community garden liaisons
  • hobbyist foodscapers looking to go pro
  • urban farmers

How does this work?

As a workshop panelist, you'll be part of a team of 3 people presenting on our "Watch Me Bid This Out series"

Our team will provide you with a mock client "case study", including a proposal, budget, goals, and a design.

You'll present your process on bidding it out and walk through your methods and ideas for coming to a final cost.

The audience will take questions afterward.

Workshop Panelist Participation Requirements for the Conference

  1. Presentation: Our team will present you the mock case study and design. You will then prepare 5-10 slides in advance in a shared Google Slides file showing your bidding process. Then, you'll present your slides and take questions at the end.
  2. Photos: Send 3-5 photos of your best work for promotional use (you’ll be credited!) as well as a headshot.

Extra Credit (not required)

  1. Handouts. Handouts for your presentation would be a great bonus but they are NOT required.
  2. Promotion. Help us promote the conference! We'll supply you with everything you need to make it easy to promote on social media and your email newsletter. We'd so greatly appreciate your help spreading the word! You can join our affiliate program and earn 30 percent of all sales sold through your link. Details here.

What's in it for you?

1. $200 compensation for your part of the presentation (to be paid by March 15, 2025) + 30% of sales earned through your affiliate link

2. Two free tickets to the conference (you + 1) - a $600 value

3. Recognition as a thought leader in the foodscaper industry + the chance to contribute to this exciting emerging industry!

Here's a look at the numbers from last year's conference.

Workshop Panelist Overview: "Watch Me Bid This Out" Series

As a workshop panelist, you'll join a dynamic team of three presenters to participate in our engaging “Watch Me Bid This Out” series.

If you're reading this, you're on the either the Raised Bed workshop or or Edible Landscapes workshop.

In this collaborative panel, you will:

  1. Work with a Mock Case Study: Our team will provide a comprehensive mock case study including a design and materials list. This case study will serve as the foundation for your presentation, allowing you to demonstrate your bidding process in a real-world context. (Note: conference participants will also receive this mock case study before the conference so they can practice building a bid before watching the workshop.)

  2. Present Your Bidding Process: During the workshop, you’ll showcase your unique approach to bidding by detailing the steps you take to reach a final cost of the project. We want to know: where do your numbers come from and what's your rationale? We want to see your method for finding the numbers (ie. software, how you determine your markup, overhead and admin costs, fees for pick up of material, how much you charge for delivery.) Show us your numbers!

  3. Interactive Audience Engagement: After your presentation, you will have the opportunity to engage with the audience during a Q&A session. This is a chance to address questions, share insights, and encourage discussions around bidding practices in the edible landscaping industry.

Know Your Audience:

You’ll be speaking to professional and aspiring foodscapers—people who design and install food-producing landscapes for a living. They’re looking to improve not only as growers but also as business operators and team members. Your presentation should help them in all aspects of their work.

What We're Not Looking For:

  • Sales pitches: We want continuing education, not a promotion of your services or trainings.
  • Theoretical content: Stick to practical, real-world application and technical details.

Extra Credit:

Our audience loves any handouts and supplemental materials pertaining to pro foodscaping. If you have anything already prepared to share, we'd love to share it so attendees can use in their own work.

We're here to support you with:

1. Help preparing your presentation

2. A Promo Kit: We’ll make the promo work simple and easy for you with pre-scripted promotional copy, social media graphics and other tools for getting the word out. Get it here.

3. Join our affiliate program here to receive a 30% cut of all sales earned through your link.

4. Troubleshooting: You can reach out anytime to conference organizer Lindsay Wolff at [email protected]
